I was invited to participate in the Merseles Studios’ “Justice Art Show” in Jersey City.
When I consider the theme “justice”, I’m reminded of unfair treatment (injustices) within our society. Contemplating current events and thinking in terms of generations, I painted a gritty rendering of children’s toys in the “hands up” position against a backdrop of reported injustices.
“Arts in the City” featured the Justice Art Show and Olga Levina, co-founder of Merseles Studios, in its March 2015 program. My painting,”Double Standard”, appears about 4-1/2 minutes into the episode. View the episode at Arts in the City.
Gabriel Pacheco, the founder of the Distillery Gallery in Jersey City Heights is the curator for the “Justice Show”. Learn more about Gabriel Pacheco and the Distillery Gallery.
Olga Levina, co-founder of the Merseles Studios and Jersey City Theater Center, is a gracious lady with a passion for the arts in Jersey City. Learn more about the Merseles Studios.
The show concludes on April 24, 2015 with an artists’ closing reception, 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The exhibit is located at 339 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
